-Rapper, producer, composer, and versatile artist from Daegu, South Korea.

Yoongi's unwavering love for music and his desire to create it carried him through his life to where he is now and has made a name for himself in the music industry not only in South Korea, but internationally as well.

Deemed as a hitmaker with production, composing, arranging, and lyric credits on songs from artists outside of BTS such as Epik High, Suran, Lee Sora, and most recently Heize, Yoongi has lived up to that title... along with others such as "Musical Genius SUGA", "The Hand of Midas", and "Unrivaled Producer".

His Work

Yoongi's work exists on a spectrum, really giving us a visual as to how versatile he is as an artist. Whether it's through piano ballads or intense hip hop beats, we understand that Yoongi is truly a chameleon when it comes to music.

"Agust D" (2016)
Agust D

Agust D is a pseudonym created by Yoongi. In his Marie Claire Korea interview from 2016, he stated that he made this name because he wanted to discuss his true inner feelings through lyrics, producing, etc.
This mixtape touches on a variety of messages that resonate well with listeners. Many of which find a sense of closure through his words, or maybe even a form of healing. He discusses his own struggles with mental health, societal pressures, and unfair expectations or situations that far too many of us face especially at a young age.

His Words

One of Yoongi's most notable features as an artist and human being are his very honest words and what he chooses to share with the world. He is an incredibly supportive human being and never hesitates to lend his heart for those that may be in desperate need of something good.
Through his lyrics especially, Yoongi reassures the listener that they are never alone in what they face and that throughout all our hardships, we will fully bloom.

He's essentially made a promise to himself that he would create an environment for those to find shelter through his music. He has gone through so much but every obstacle he has faced has never halted his love and desire to create music.

This song was created by Tablo of EPIK HIGH. Yoongi wrote his verse in Chicago, IL in 2017 during the Wings Tour.
Lee Sora and Yoongi act as both a listener of the radio trying to find comfort in music (LS) and the songs that they are listening to (YG). It's a song that is widely loved by both ARMYs and the Korean GP.
This song is up for Collaboration of the Year and Song of the Year at MAMA 2019.
